In my last post, I updated you on the progress of my documentary “Razorwire,” which was recently pulled from “pipe dream” status back into “hopefully I can get this done before I retire” status.
I’ve been reading through the transcript of the Me/Chadwick interview (this interview forms the narrative spine of the film), outlining, making notes, and strategizing.
I’m about a third of the way in to a solid outline of the film.
“Razorwire” is the story of the worst years of our lives… me and Chris Chadwick and the events that shaped us into the men we are. Our life stories parallel in fascinating ways. Here’s how it’ll be presented: we’ll intercut between the life of Chris Chadwick and the life of me. The life of Chris Chadwick will be told from beginning to end. The life of me will be told in an almost random-feeling order, as if I’m trying to sort out all the broken pieces of my life.
The trick will be doing it in a way where the audience doesn’t feel confused or bewildered. If it’s written and edited right, it should prove to be a fascinating story. We’ll see.
