It recently came to my attention that there was an election or something. My blog isn’t the place to talk politics (I’m not as good at it as many of my peers), but I suppose that means we’re in a time of transition as a nation, and I feel obligated to comment on that.
Comment complete.
Moving on…
Three tasks will define my week:
1) Finishing a short film I shot in 2007 called “The Shrub Whisperer.” It’s a comedy about a guy who talks to plants. It’s ha-ha funny. You’ll like it. There’s a new trailer imminent. The film probably won’t be finished this week, but I should have a better-than-rough cut assembled for some of my peers to review.*
2) Scheduling two key shoots for the documentary in production. The first I can’t talk about yet, but it involves explosives. The second is an interview between Pastor Chris Chadwick and me that will form the spine of the film. Unfortunately, it looks like both shoots will be postponed for a few weeks. While I’d rather get those sequences in the can fast, the delay will give me some time to over-prepare.
3) On Friday, we’re scheduled to shoot the opening of the picture. I’m tremendously excited about this: it’s the first ‘staged’ sequence of the film, and the first dramatic scene shot by Tim, our Director of Photography. The scene involves me having a panic attack on a treadmill. I’ll have to act and bark at Tim at the same time.** Can’t hardly wait.
*I’ve said that before, haven’t I?
**It’s nice to have a Director of Photography you can trust. Several weeks ago, we shot some gorgeous San Diego skyline footage from the roof of the Manchester Grand Hyatt downtown. I never had to check Tim’s frame. Never. And the footage was scrumptious. Mmmm.

You, Tim, and a treadmill? errrrmmm….I have to say I’m a wee bit frightened.
And I bet you are, too, knowing that I subscribe to your blog in my google reader! Mwahahaha.

Hey, Pam! Thanks for the comment! I’ve been meaning to do a mass email for everyone at church, but I think only three or four of them went through. Hopefully everyone will get an email or facebook message soon.

Um, yeah, for some reason I can’t find The Shrub Whisperer on Netflix… What gives?
Looks quite entertaining. Just the short trailer had me smiling. I think it was the music.
